James Meston



James’s first job was with Guardian Royal Exchange in 1988. It was here that he met Paul Milnes for the first time. James was a Broker Consultant for Guardian until 1992 before moving to Scottish Amicable. In 1999 he joined CGU and when CGU merged with Norwich Union in 2000 he met up with Paul again.

In 2002 James joined a successful regional firm of Financial Advisers in Maidenhead and worked closely with the Managing Director to develop and expand their Corporate Pension proposition, while maintaining a portfolio of Private Clients. It was here that his advisory skills were honed before deciding to establish JPM Asset Management with Paul in May 2006. All of James’s clients opted to follow him to his new practice and the business continues to go from strength to strength.

James has the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC1, FPC2 & FPC3) and holds the G60 Pension Qualification along with the CEMAP Mortgage Advice Qualification. He is currently studying for the Diploma in Financial Planning’s Investment Management qualification.

Paul Milnes


Paul was brought up in and around the Reading area and in 1986 joined Guardian Royal Exchange from school, where he first met James Meston. From there he joined Norwich Union in 1989 as a senior member of their admin support team, before becoming a Broker Consultant in 1996. It was during the next 7 years that Paul was able to develop his industry experience before taking a position with a leading regional firm of financial advisers, dealing with both corporate and private clients.

It was from here that he and James formed JPM Asset Management in June 2006.

Paul has the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC1, FPC2 & FPC3) and also holds the G60 Pension Qualification. He is currently studying for the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Diploma in Financial Planning qualification.

Paul is married to Marcia and they have 2 children. When they are not taking up all of Paul’s free time he likes to go running, cycling and skiing.
